I saw a picture of instruments, a beautiful picture of each person’s life as an orchestra. Each instrument as one expression of the whole self, playing from its own qualities. How sometimes we, as the conductor over all our instruments, may pay attention to one part of the orchestra, in order to perfect a particular piece of the song and then we move on to another, until all instruments being a part of the whole orchestra, come together to create a beautiful song. So I could agree that looking for balance in the liner sense of the teeter-totter was unrealistic in relation to the many parts of ourselves and our lives that we live. But, I could not help but to think that the balance comes when the conductor works with his many instruments in his orchestra to create a beautiful concert. Within the orchestration of the concert, balance is acheived by using all instruments within their own unique qualities. Understanding their strengths, their limitations and that not all instruments play at the same time all the time. The Conductor observes and directs from a place of outside the orchestra, as to help the instruments to come together as one.

We are the Conductor of our life, practicing, perfecting, rewriting, redoing, replacing, and practicing again. We create song after song after song. Some songs are happy, some are sad, some are melancholy, some are energetic, some are smooth. In the end we have our Concert, our life as we have created. The orchestra of our expressions creates balance, the balance is our concert! …… Steffi Jo

Everything we do in life is directly related to the relationships we build. The most wildly growing relationship building phenomena today is in Social Media building. Professionally speaking, you must come out from behind your office door and get in the game! It is very exposing and a vulnerable position and the question becomes, “how do I begin to be successful in this arena and be comfortable doing so”?

Have you ever listened to a speaker and was motivated, inspired, impressed and wanted more? Could it be because he/she was “walking their talk” and you were attracted to the fact that they were being authentic? You can tell when someone is openly being themselves and speaking their passion in a way that enhances the experience you have when listening and it calls you to action in some way in your own life. The feeling of this experience either in a professional or personal setting is what attracts us to another. This is what we aspire to do in business and/or  our personal relationships when we are wanting to succeed in one way or another. Remembering that success means something different to all of us.

So how is this learned? Is it learned? I see it as something that we all have within us and it is about understanding ourselves and how we want to show up in this world. You can create business if you believe in yourself and your product, you can create the relationships that you want in your life, but it starts with your authentic communication. It all starts with understanding your core self, who you are behind it all. The more successful you are with understanding yourself, the more successful you can be in your professional and personal relationships.

Once I took them all through the “testing” portion of the class, I asked them to group together according to their Essence type. Oh boy, was that fun too! I got a little caught up in moving from one group to the other because of the fun-ness of experiencing the different group’s energy. These women were awesome!

Some of us just like to dress for the mood that we are in and we have certain moods that we choose to assert when we do things in our life.

Everyone has 5 psychological basic areas of moods that we use to support areas of our life. By understanding the color and design elements that support our own unique personalities (Essence Elements) we can create even more support to achieve the outcomes we desire.

These 5 psychological moods are:
• Romantic: Essence Elements can emphasize your sexuality.
• Power: When wearing your Essence Elements you will be taken more seriously.
• Dramatic: You can lift your spirits and restore your energy when wearing your Essence.
• Focal: By wearing your Essence Elements you can bring about calmness and focus at time when you feel stressed.
• Contrast: You can capture your “Wholeness”, bringing your inner self and outer self into alignment and present it to the world by wearing your Essence Elements.

Whatever mood you are in, if you choose to wear your unique Essence Elements, you can enhance, alter, support, attract and create more clarity in your life events.

This is a great question because some people may think that when expressing your essence you may not be taken seriously! Quite the contrary, when you express your essence you look more authentic and credible. There are some beliefs that you must wear a “black suit” to be successful in the corporate world. I understand that the business world has a standard; the challenge is how do you stand apart and get noticed for your uniqueness and abilities when everyone looks the same. How do you get the job over someone else when all proposals look the same? Where do you add just the right edge when presenting a proposal? Do you consider what you are going to wear and why, when getting ready for that important appointment?

I believe most people would say yes, they consider what they would wear because they want to succeed. First impressions are very important. Expressing Your Essence helps to support your corporate style in adding those elements that bring out and attract your best personality qualities.

For example, does your personality shine and look it’s best in sharp corners on the lapels of the suit or do you align best with rounded corners? Does your true inner-self feel and look best in pinstripes or solid material? It makes a difference when you wear the right design elements in your corporate suit, because it will not “fit” you and support your best qualities if you don’t!

When a person chooses design elements that do not align with their dominant personality, their true inner-self, they could create doubt in their abilities in the eyes of the beholder. By wearing the design elements that align with you, people are more attracted to what you have to say because you express an alignment from within that is more authentic.

I found this workbook as I was cleaning my garage and had so much fun remembering this learning experience. I am sure it has influenced me ever since. However I remember the years that I tried to figure out what exactly did I feel best in? I did listen to the salespeople and my friends. When I found something that I felt good in, I could not find another one. It was a bit maddening and time consuming and expensive to buy clothes and hop on the roller coaster of trying to figure out, consistently, what I felt good in! Sure I had some clothes along the way that I loved and wore out. But then I would need something new or something for an event and the shopping roller coaster started up again!

My journey of learning to WEAR WHAT I FELT BEST IN has taken me “back to the basics” and that is KNOWING WHO I AM FIRST and then I WILL KNOW WHAT AND WHY I FEEL BEST in the clothes that I am attracted to wear. Shopping with this information is no longer a roller coaster ride. I know what works for me and I love it!
